Lois Choi-Kain komt naar Nederland! Lois is een internationaal gerenommeerd onderzoeker en directeur van het Gunderson Personality Disorders Institute, bekend van Good Psychiatric Management voor de borderline persoonlijkheidsstoornis. In haar keynote op de Dag van de Psychotherapie stimuleert zij ons om kritisch te kijken naar wat een goede behandeling is bij persoonlijkheidsstoornissen.

Conflict has the potential to foster the broadest perspectives of reality, ourselves, and others, while also holding the potential for controversy and crisis. However, the greatest health in the field is developed from the process of finding the common ground and bridging the gaps between different silos and schools of thought.

This keynote will consider the possibility of bridging the disparate parts of our professional activities, communities, and identities through good psychiatric management.

Over Lois Choi-Kain

Lois Choi-Kain is directeur van het Gunderson Personality Disorders Institute (GPDI), een trainingscentrum voor behandelingen van borderline persoonlijkheidsstoornis (BPS) en onderzoek naar uitkomsten, evenals de sociale cognitieve mechanismen die in deze interventies worden aangepakt. Haar onderzoekstraining begon als postdoctoraal onderzoeker onder supervisie van John Gunderson, M.D. Lois heeft een intensief behandelprogramma ontwikkeld, de Gunderson Residence, waarin verschillende empirisch ondersteunde therapieën worden gecombineerd met een milieu-instelling die de revalidatie van sociale en beroepsmatige functies benadrukt. Daarnaast heeft zij een trainingsinstituut opgericht dat opleidingen aanbiedt met CME-accreditatie in MBT, DBT, DBT-PTSD, overdrachtsgerichte psychotherapie (TFP) en good psychiatric management (GPM).

• Voorafgaand aan de Dag van de Psychotherapie geeft Lois Choi-Kain een masterclass: Psychotherapeutic use of Good Psychiatric Management in treating patients with severe personality disorders and co-occuring disorders.
